Savanah started dancing the age of 3 when she was enrolled in a kinder dance class by her mother as an outlet for her abounded amount of energy. Savanah has since studied ballet, pointe, tap, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, character, contemporary, highland and musical theatre. She has successfully obtained her grade 3 Adapt jazz level, as well as her Ballet Advanced 1 with The Cecchetti Society of Canada.
Savanah began teaching at the age of 15 and has taught recreational acrobatics, competitive ballet, ballet technique, pointe technique and has done solo choreography in lyrical, ballet, and contemporary. As well as instructing dance Savanah is now entering her second year of Political Science at Lakehead University and is an honors student.
Savanah has won many awards throughout her dance career locally and both nationally and internationally. Some special awards include the National Dance Week Most Promising Dancer, Best Technical Execution; Best Presentation; Best Emotional Execution as well has numerous highest scoring routine awards. Savanah has achieved National Champion Title status in many of her routines including; pointe solo, pointe duet, and numerous group routines at Dance America Nationals in 2014. Savanah has qualified to competed in the Dance America Dancer of the Year competition three times and competed in the competition in the Dance America Nationals in Florida in 2014.
Savanah attended the Quinte Ballet School summer intensive in 2010. In 2011 Savanah participated in the month long audition intensive for the School of Alberta Ballet’s professional training program. She was accepted into the program but in lieu of moving to Alberta by herself at age 13, she opted to continue her dance education in Thunder Bay with Laura McRury at IDA and participate in the International Baccalaureate World School program for her high school education. Savanah received her Acrobatic Arts Module One Teacher Certification in September 2016.
