After watching big sister Kylie competing at Nationals in Florida in 2002, Alex decided she wanted to become a tapper. So at the age of five Alex started her dance career where she quickly turned into a Ballerina. Alex currently studies ballet, pointe, tap, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, character, contemporary and musical theatre. She has successfully obtained her Intermediate 3 Tap, her Pre-Advance 1 Jazz Adapt exams, as well as her Ballet Advanced 2 with The Cecchetti Society of Canada.

Alex has won many awards and scholarships at the Lakehead Dance Festival. Some special awards were the Junior All Round Bowl in 2007, the Junior RBC Silver Plate in 2010 and the Fort William Rotary Senior Silver Tray in 2013. In 2013 and 2015 she was a runner up to the Senior All Round Bowl and won Overall Best Costume in 2014. Alex was awarded National Dance Week Most Promising Dancer twice at Dance America, and once at International Dance Challenge competitions in the U.S., as well as Best Technical Execution, Best Presentation, Most Entertaining, Most Graceful Dancer, Highest Overall Solo in 2014, Highest Overall Duets, Highest Overall Groups, Highest Overall Competition Score,Broadway Dance Centre Scholarship as well as many other awards and scholarships.

While attending Dance America National Finals in Chicago in 2013 and Florida in 2014, she was chosen to compete in the Dancer of The Year competition and performed in their Production Numbers. Alex won National Champion titles for her solo, duets and many groups. In 2014 her Lyrical Group was chosen to perform on the Theatre of the Stars stage at Disney Land in Orlando, Florida as well as perform in the Dancer of Year Production number.

Alex’s love of the stage lead her to perform with Minnesota Ballet’s Nutcracker Production in 2007, Moscow Ballet’s Sleeping Beauty in 2008, The Thunder Bay Male Choir Christmas Show in 2008, Thunder Bay Olympic Torch Community Celebration in 2010, Moscow Ballet’s Swan Lake in 2010, Ballet Jorgen’s Swan Lake in 2013, and St. Patrick’s productions Wizard of Oz in 2014 and Alice At Wonderland in 2014.

Over the years she has attended many workshops training with well known instructors/choreographers, but her strengths come from the hours of training she has spent in the studio with her dedicated teachers.
